WinSCP is a new graphical front-end to putty and pscp that lets Windows users
drag and drop files to and from systems running SSH servers, such as the CASLab Solaris, Linux and Mac OSX systems.
WinSCP can be downloaded here. During the installation you will be asked to select
a user interface style. Explorer-like is recommended over the Norton Commander interface.
Once WinSCP is installed, create a session. This is shown below. Be sure to replace “Host name” with whatever system you are trying to connect to. (Typically zeus.caslab.queensu.ca or one of the Linux boxes, as shown below.)
The first time you connect to a remote machine, a confirmation box will appear:
The following image shows the default window if Explorer view was selected on installation:
If the Explorer view was not selected, this is what the screen should look like:
To switch between Explorer and Norton Commander view select
View -> Preferences
and select your desired interface.
In either case, you should be able to simply drag and drop files to and from the WinSCP window.
