Remote Desktop to CASLab from Linux

Download and install Remmina. (On Ubuntu, type “sudo apt install remmina” in a terminal.)

Click the icon in the upper left hand corner (it looks like a rectangle with a plus symbol).

Connect to a remote PC.

For Server, enter “<PC name>” (no quotes), where <PC name> is the name of an available PC (see list of available PCs). For Username, put your netid. For password, type your CASLab password. This is the password you use to log into CASLab (note that this is separate from your Queen’s account and not necessarily the same). If you’ve forgotten your password or haven’t set it yet, head over to to set it. For Domain, enter “CASLAB” (no quotes). Also make sure to set the resolution to either client resolution, or select an appropriate custom resolution.

Fill in information about the PC.

Next, click over to the Advanced tab. Under Remote Desktop Gateway server, enter “” (no quotes). Under Remote Desktop Gateway username, enter your netid. Under Remote Desktop Gateway password enter you Queen’s password (the one you use to log into Office 365 or onQ). And under Remote Desktop Gateway domain, enter “AD” (no quotes).

Set up the Queen’s Gateway.

Once finished, click Connect (or Save and Connect). You should be prompted to accept a certificate. After doing so, you should be logged into the CASLab PC.
